Winter Workshop on Global Financial Crisis: Myths and Reality

Free University of Tbilisi was established in 2007 and comprises two leading higher education schools of Georgia – Business School ESM and Institute of Asia and Africa. Today, Free University delivers academic programs at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels, conducts a wide array of short-term courses, runs several research centers and summer school programs. About 600 students attend the Free University of Tbilisi, of which 492 are enrolled in undergraduate programs, 88 are graduate students and 6 pursue doctorate studies.

Free University of Tbilisi maintains tradition of holding short programs and workshops on important and relevant economic issues. In August, 2008 it has successfully organized International Summer School on Economic Growth. The upcoming four-day winter workshop is dedicated to the analysis of the unfolding financial crisis. Professors and scholars from the world’s top universities and research institutions will discuss reasons of the global turmoil and possible ways of minimizing its effect on economic growth, utilizing the findings of the latest research on finance and growth.

Individuals interested to participate in the Winter Workshop on Finance and Economic Growth should send their resume, statement of intent (not more than 750 words), and contact details of at least one reference person to ww_finance@freeuni.edu.ge. Selected individuals will be registered on this Blog to participate in the discussions about the global financial crisis. The best participants of the discussions will be admitted to the Winter Workshop on Finance and Economic Growth.
